How to calculate SIP returns

A systematic investment plan (SIP) involves contributing an amount regularly. Enter a monthly contribution, a whole number of years, and an assumed annual return rate to estimate the invested amount and future value.

Formula

Future value = P × ((1 + r)ⁿ − 1) ÷ r × (1 + r)

Example

At a 0% return, a monthly contribution of 100 for one year produces a future value of 1,200, entirely from your 12 contributions.

Assumptions and limits

P is the monthly contribution, r is the annual rate divided by 12 and 100, and n is the number of months. Contributions occur at the start of each month. The model assumes a constant return and excludes fees, taxes, and inflation; actual investment returns vary.
